Okay, hear me out. If you had asked me a decade ago what I thought my life would look like now, I never would have guessed I’d be this passionate about suburban Little League baseball.
Our son has played since he was four. He’s eight now, and this was the first season I truly loved it.
We moved to this neighborhood last year and, mostly out of convenience, joined our local league. I never expected how much community, connection, and joy it would bring into our lives. We made friends, got to know families in our neighborhood, learned every teammate’s name, and found ourselves cheering each kid on and celebrating their progress and effort.
It reminded me that community isn’t something you stumble upon - it’s something you build. The season is over now, and honestly, I don’t know what I’ll do without it as the anchor of our week.
